Just wondering from all the discussion I have seen cases marked J.Boss 14K Guaranteed 20 years are gold filled. Is this always correct?

.....I have an old (1944) Omega bump hammer auto in 18K. It runs, keeps time. and is solid. I got nostalgic and thought to get it cleaned , new crystal, maybe new dial. Went to Omega's site and found the local service shop. Just got the call, it's too old for them, must be sent to Switzerland for evaluation. $800.00 plus $75.00 shipping if I want the service. WTF??? Are they just blowing me off or what? To the Bay. If wishes were horses beggars would ride.

Omega or Omega fake??? Deville Quartz

Well I have an "omega" watch, which I would like to list, but do not want to get into trouble with eBay in case it is a fake. I truly want to thank you all beforehand!!! I took this watch to my jeweler and he says it is real. He says it needs a coil, a cleaning and and overhaul, he did not add a battery....because it would not work as it is. Do you all think this may be original? Is it a ladies or men, or both? The speidel black lizard grain band is deteriorating.

Thanks again to all! Have another question on watches. I want to list a vtg mens Charles Raymond, which I believe it is no super expensive high end watch and want to make sure I can list. The other is a Compass some sort of watch, missing glass top and is working.....what is the proper name for this sort of watch? Charles Raymond Quartz working, can I list it? Rolex Victory

I have my Dad's Rolex Victory watch, which he left me when he passed away. He was a Vet. from WW2 in the Canadian Army and served over seas. I was at a Antique fair a few weeks ago and there was a guy with a booth selling watches. He was sort of doing appraisals on site and he looked at mine and said he would give me 20.00 for it. Trade mark violation - Listing keeps getting removed - Please help!

Hi all, I'd bought a rolex watch from eBay about an year back from a seller here (marlin57) for about 1500 dollars. I was really happy with this watch but moved on now and bought a Jaeger, but have not been able to sell it back now and cant figure out why. though my recent listing has been removed by eBay, you can see an older listing of the same watch (item 120432130136). That buyer backed out and i've been trying to relist it ever since and failed. Can somebody here tell me what is wrong with my listing and why eBay is removing it? I called their helpdesk and was told to post my question here. Appreciate your help.

Swatch Watches St Germain MacKintosh Sandy Mountains...

Two of these are very rare. They have light scratches on the glass, one of the bands has a tear in the back, other wise they are in good condition with new batteries, packaging etc. Would you list them in a lot or separately? 14k accoutron scrap, have fixed or sale as is?

We have a non running 14K 214 accoutron. Lady said it could not be fixed. With a new battery hear a hum but hands do not move. Looks to nice to me to scrap 13.22 dwts. Needs a crystal. I am not sure if it would be worth the investment to have fixed or not.

Need Help with 1887 Elgin Watch

I need some help with an1887 Elgin pocket watch. I figured out how to wind it up, but I can figure out how to set the time. I think there should be a lever someplace, but I don't know where. Guarantee repair of a watch

I have bought a watch. The seller has declared a guarantee 2 years. For two years a watch has broken three times. Guarantee repair has been made free of charge two times. In third time the seller demands payment of repair and the postage. The guarantee has ended 8/06/2009. The Watch has been sent the seller 21/05/2009. There is a post receipt with sending date. How I can complain of the seller who does not carry out guarantee certificates?

Lucerne Swiss -Donada Watch are they the same?

Hi, I purchased a ladies watch at an estate sale,very pretty. The face says Lucerne Swiss made. Antimagnetic (wind-up). When I took the back cover off to check,jewels,etc., its (the time piece) marked Donada watch. ZM 5500. Is this common or not? What does it mean? I would think the time piece would be marked Lucerne/Swiss. Thank you

Greetings to these boards! I hope I'm in the right place for answers I recently sold this Vintage Lucerne ladies' watch to a friend, and was confident it was from the 40's-50's. But when she took it to a jeweler, she was told it was a "reproduction"?! I do believe the band is "newer". And are those genuine "diamond" chips? Hello all, I recently had a few of my Rolex watches taken down off of eBay because of a trademark violation. As far as I know, the watches I am selling are real. I want to know how you can get authorization to sell these types of items. Is there something special I am supposed to do to prevent my items from getting taken down? Hi, I have my eyes on a watch that cost within the region of 2800 to 3000. Problem is the seller has 0 feedback but has been a member since 2004. Strange ? My question is, if I were to win the watch and have it inspected for authenticity first before payment, if the results are that its a fake, am I bound by any ebay rules or laws that I still have to pay for the watch? Common sense would of course say NO, but I would like to know ebay's stand on the issue and what my fellow members have to say too. Will I be blacklisted by ebay? Thanks.

Help with vintage Ladies Hamilton watch

I'm considering listing this watch that I inherited from my grandmother, but would like some feedback from you experts if possible. It's 14K gold....am I correct to assume it is white gold? Also, I'm sure the band is not the original as it is marked "Speidel". Is is worth my while to try to find an original band or is the value more in the diamonds and the watch itself?
